Barbara Glover is deeply committed to advancing the effective utilisation of science, technology, and innovation to foster socioeconomic development in Africa. She currently serves Programme Officer at the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD).
With a focus on promoting collaborative efforts that harness technology for positive impact across diverse sectors, Barbara is actively involved in ongoing work on the AUDA-NEPAD Artificial Intelligence Continental White Paper and Roadmap and crafting innovative policy instruments related to AI governance in fields such as synthetic biology and AI applications in sectors like health, education, climate change, and food security.
Barbara's work at AUDA-NEPAD since 2016 has been pivotal in supporting African countries in identifying, harnessing, and implementing emerging technologies for socioeconomic development. Her responsibilities include conducting research, analysing data, and strengthening capacity in pivotal areas such as gene drives for malaria elimination, Blockchain for improved e-governance, and AI for socio-economic development.
