Head of International Programs, African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC)

Luchuo is a global public health physician, implementation research scientist, and empirical bioethicist with over 15 years of experience in sexual reproductive health and rights, research ethics, health systems strengthening/resilience, climate change and health, One Health, HIV, evidence synthesis, and monitoring and evaluation of public health interventions in low and middle-income countries.  He has over 100 papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

He holds a Ph.D in Transdisciplinary Global Health Solutions from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, an executive MBA in Strategic Human Resources Management (UNIR), a Master’s of Science in Bioethics (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven; KU Leuven), a Master’s of Public Health Degree (Hebrew University), and a medical degree-MD (University of Yaounde I, Cameroon).

In his previous roles, Luchuo served as a Senior Program Officer with the Global Health Division of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Ottawa, Canada.
