Acting Executive Director, Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR)

Dr. Pauline Ngimwa is a Kenyan national with extensive experience in the African higher education sector and policy research, currently serving as the Acting Executive Director at the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR). In this role, she is responsible for overseeing PASGR’s strategic direction and managing the organization’s operations including policy research and uptake initiatives. She also leads the Professional Development and Training Programme, where she designs and delivers experiential training for early and mid-career researchers, academics, and policy actors across Africa. 
Dr. Ngimwa’s career is marked by her leadership in multi-national education and research capacity strengthening projects in African. Prior to her work at PASGR, she spearheaded the implementation of digital library systems and Open, Distance, and e-Learning (ODeL) programs at the African Virtual University. Her expertise lies in educational technology, particularly in the design and use of digital educational resources, including Open Educational Resources (OERs), as well as policy engaged research in the African context. Dr. Ngimwa has contributed to these field through publications and peer reviews for international journals and serves on the advisory board of the Network of OERs and Multimodal Self-Directed Learning in Southern Africa (NOMSA).
Dr. Ngimwa holds a PhD and a Masters of Research in Educational Technology from the Open University in the UK. She also holds a BSc and a Masters in Information Science from Moi University, Kenya, and is a fellow with the African Science Leadership Program. Her work has had a profound impact on the development of digital learning environments in Africa, and she continues to be a leader in advancing professional development and governance research on the continent.
