
Dr. Uzma Alam is a science policy leader and global health scientist. In her current role as the Policy and Data Lead at the SFA Foundation, she specializes in designing evidence based STI program strategies and crafting policy recommendations. She also plays an active role in high-level policy forums and international dialogues, providing expert insights to inform strategic planning at a continental level, including serving on the Africa CDC AI working group and the AU STISA review.
With a multicultural international background, her career spans academic, non-profit, corporate, and governmental sectors. Notable leadership roles include positions at Yale School of Public Health, Red Cross, CDC, and the U.S. Army (MRU), where she led global health research programs and introduced national health policy reports.
Her influence extends beyond professional roles; having served as the former editor of the Yale Journal of Health Policy, Law, and Ethics and presently on the Geneva Foundation Board.
